Clara Circle - Turning Compassion into Action

What can one woman do?  You see the news reports every day of unemployment, crime, strife, disaster, disease and destruction.  Sometimes it can be overwhelming. You want to help, but may find yourself thinking "What can one woman do?"  Clara Barton felt that way too, hundreds of years ago when women had no power, means or stature.

Through her compassion, resilience, ingenuity and sheer determination she was successful in bringing the humanitarian principles of the Red Cross movement to the United States and founding the American Red Cross in 1881.

lara Barton knew one little secret that made her successful and it holds true today:  When women band together, they are unstoppable.  That's what Clara's Circle is all about, pooling the talents and resources of compassionate, determined women to get the work of the Red Cross done. Families rely on the Red Cross every day.  Whether they have lost their homes to a fire or tornado, are sending their loved ones off with our military, need to learn critical skills such as CPR and first aid or they need life-saving blood, they need the services of the Red Cross and it is up to us to make sure we have the resources to provide them.

Your membership in Clara's Circle helps to provide the financial resources the Red Cross simply can't do without.  Please join us today and encourage your good friends to do so as well.  When we come together, we are part of something bigger than us all and we can do great things...one woman at a time.
